Truth & Reconciliation Calls Read Aloud 

The TRC Calls Read Aloud Event aims to familiarize the community with the TRC Calls, as well as alert them to the real and important presence of the TRC Calls as responsibilities that settler/Canadian populations need to address. The event strives to invite settlers into the act of reconciliation by engaging with the audible calls to action. 

 

In more detail, any and all members of the community are invited to take turns standing at the provided microphone to read aloud portions of the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action. This ensures that the amplified Calls are heard multiple times during the event, reinforcing the ideas and impact of the Calls on all passersby. The Event also offers a talking circle where people can engage with the Calls more personally, considering what the Calls might mean in each of our lives.
