THE FALL

A body, a crisis. The Fall offered an opportunity for a simple and powerful reflection on the multiple crises we face – pandemic, climate, ecological. Through the action of falling, enacted by localized bodies in a local place, The Fall demonstrated the fragility of the human experience in the 21st century. The Fall was performed by both artist and volunteer bodies and presented a mere one week after the first Covid-19 lockdown in Canada. As an art intervention that contrasted the typical experience of public space, The Fall gave room for new considerations of the crises we face.
