CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
One year ago, TRAction marked the start of their intervention work with a public funeral procession through the downtown streets of Calgary carrying a dead tree. Read more about it here: https://www.kevinjesuino.com/procession-for-end-times
This past summer, Canada lost it's last remaining ice shelf when the Milne Ice Shelf on Ellesmere Island in the northern territory of Nunavut collapsed into the ocean.
The annual "Procession for End Times" reflects on parts of nature that we have lost. This year we will be commemorating the Mile Ice Shelf in a procession that will feature a 10-foot tall ice shelf m
ade of white fabric and carried by citizens of Calgary.
The procession will begin at Poppy Plaza on end in a secret location where it will culminate with a performance by local dancers. The procession and performance should take approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.
This procession needs some volunteers to carry the Ice Shelf. A quick rehearsal will be held the weekend prior to the event.
ATTENTION: *Participants must be able to carry 3-5 lbs. of weight.
